About Michelle

I am a mother of three; lover of babywearing, breastfeeding, yoga and all things related to pregnancy, birth and babies.

I believe that mindful parenting begins with pregnancy. Specializing in all things relating to birth, parenting and yoga, my goal is to inspire mothers to find power, strength and trust in their bodies and their babies.

I am trained through DONA and have been taking doula clients since 2012. I feel honored to be part of such an intimate and beautiful experience. Another favorite that goes hand-in-hand with my birth doula work is being a prenatal yoga teacher. I love teaching moms yoga during their pregnancy and watching them use what they learned in their labor and birth. My new love is teaching prenatal yoga to teachers so that they, too, can teach mothers safely and effectively.

Every class and service that I offer are things that I have found incredibly beneficial in my parenting journey.

With Love, Light + Om,

Michelle

Services Offered

Private Yoga Classes via Skype

Customizable to your needs, this is a great option for moms who can’t fit yoga classes into their schedules, who may have health concerns that would prevent them from going to a regular prenatal yoga class, or have trouble finding yoga classes in their area. Yoga class options include Prenatal Yoga, Postnatal Yoga, Baby Yoga, Mom & Baby Yoga, and Family Yoga. Classes start at $40 for 45 minutes.

Gift Registry & Baby Product Consultant

As a gift registry and/or baby product consultant, I will help you create a complete registry that is perfectly catered to your interests and needs as a familiy. With my previous experience and knowledge working as a registry consultant and product expert for one of the leading retailers for infant and children products, I can help you navigate the world of baby products and gear. This service can range from a one-time consultation at the retail store of your choice or a package including in depth personalization of services to cater to your needs.

Birth Doula

The definition stated by DONA: “A birth doula is a person trained and experienced in childbirth who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after childbirth.”

I feel that while this definition is the easiest in regards to what we birth doulas do, I don’t think it gives people an idea of how much a birth doula can do for the birthing mother (and her partner). As a birth doula, I will provide you with information to make the best choices for you and your family. No judgement, only support. I also offer a complimentary private class to all of my doula clients, ranging from childbirth education to babywearing.

I will be in contact with you in early labor to make sure that you are relaxed and feel safe. When I join you during your labor, I will provide physical comfort techniques and emotional support so that you and your partner feel fully supported.

Doula packages start at $1,500.

What People Are Saying

Michelle was an absolute shining star during the birth of our first child. In addition to being our doula, she was also our hypnobirthing mentor and it was a huge advantage to have our teacher there when it came time to use the technique. By all accounts Michelle is a natural doula; she’s a caregiver with a reassuring touch and a trove of knowledge about pregnancy, birth, and babies. She has a million tricks beyond just the visualization and breathing techniques that she teaches. For our birth, she had electric candles so we could keep the lights low and aromatherapy compresses and a giant wrap for me to pull against during pushing. She was a Mary Poppins with a bag full of tools! And she’s strong! I’m 5 ft 10 and she’s 5 ft nothing and she was holding me up hour after hour. It was incredible. However, what really impressed us was not how well she performed during the conventional part of our birth story, but how she helped us when things became unpredictable. After 30+ hours of labor (she was there for it all), we had to abandon our natural birth plan. The baby was stuck and we’d decided to try forceps. Things got clinical and scary quickly. She stayed with us through it all and after. She was respectful of the medical team that came into the picture but remained steadfast in her support for our needs and wishes. She was a shoulder for my husband, she was a hand for me to squeeze, she was an absolute rock for the both of us. Without a single hesitation or reservation, we recommend Michelle as a doula. If we are lucky enough to have a second child, it would be an absolute blessing to have Michelle share in the birth again.

-J.L.Michelle was THE most crucial asset to my labor team. She was with me all through my pregnancy, labor and postpartum period and I knew I could trust her and go to her with any questions or concerns and feel completely supported and would be met with unbiased, evidence-based information. She is a wealth of knowledge and an amazingly calming presence. She was hands down the best choice I made in picking a care provider!

I first met Michelle when she was leading pre-natal yoga classes.  Michelle’s cheerfulness and strength allowed me to push myself into challenges during yoga.  I have participated in hypno-birthing workshops, post-natal yoga, and Baby Signs classes with Michelle since meeting her.  Throughout my pregnancy and into labor/delivery, I referred to Michelle as my birth godess!  It was her voice that I heard reminding me to breath and relax throughout L&D.  She often went out of her way to improve my experience of pre-natal yoga.  In fact, when I was already one week past my due date, Michelle stayed late after an evening class to lead me though a hypno-birthing exercise to help welcome my little one into the world.  After my son’s arrival, I couldn’t wait to introduce him to Michelle.  She guided him through early communication difficulties by teaching him (and our family) Baby Sign language.  He is now 18 months and while he has verbal capabilities, he has held on tight to many of the signs that he learned with Michelle.  I can, without reservations, highly recommend Michelle as an instructor and guide in your life.

I cannot speak highly enough about my experiences working with Michelle Brady as a yoga teacher, hypnobirthing practitioner, and postpartum doula** (**by this I mean your placenta prep for me…you can call this whatever you want, but that seemed like the most concise way to say it.) She is a strong, creative, and encouraging yoga teacher who helped me to maintain my yoga practice throughout my pregnancy. She was especially helpful and encouraging during the third trimester when things were physically more difficult for me. My husband and I both really valued all that she taught us in our hypnobirthing course. We loved having the course taught in the comfort of our own home. Michelle was relaxed and personable and it was an ideal way to prepare for childbirth. We were able to easily have the unmedicated, comfortable birth that we wanted and our little boy joined us after 14 very manageable hours. We could not have done it without Michelle’s help, instruction, and support. Michelle also went above and beyond to help me to prepare my placenta for raw consumption, which has been instrumental at managing the postpartum period. She continues to be a resource for us as we learn how to be new parents. We can’t recommend her highly enough!
